PAAU Opens Applications for 2026/2027 Postgraduate Programmes
Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, Kogi State, has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its postgraduate programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The university made the announcement in a special bulletin signed by the Secretary, School of Postgraduate Studies, Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, and the Registrar, Mr Audu Siaka.
According to the bulletin dated Thursday, August 20, 2026, the admission exercise covers postgraduate diploma (PGD), Master’s and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes across several faculties and departments of the university.
The programmes are available in disciplines including Agriculture, Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Law, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Communication and Media Studies, among others.
At the Faculty of Agriculture, available programmes include Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Extension, Crop Production, Food Science and Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Home Science, Soil and Environmental Management, as well as related postgraduate diploma and doctoral programmes.
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities offers postgraduate programmes in Arabic and Islamic Studies, English and Literary Studies, Religious Studies and Theatre Arts.
In the Faculty of Education, applicants can pursue programmes in Arts Education, Educational Administration and Planning, Science Education, Mathematics Education, Social Science Education, and Human Kinetics and Health Education.
The Faculty of Management Sciences lists programmes in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance and Public Administration, while the Faculty of Law offers programmes leading to qualifications including LL.M, Master in International Law and Diplomacy, Master of Arts, Law and Diplomacy (MALD), and PGD Law.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences also offers postgraduate programmes in Animal and Environmental Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Microbiology, Plant Science and Biotechnology, Physics, Pure and Industrial Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Other programmes listed in the bulletin include postgraduate studies in Geography and Environmental Studies, Mass Communication, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, and Library and Information Science.

For PhD admission, applicants are required to be graduates of PAAU or another approved university and possess a relevant Master’s degree, including MA, M.Sc, LL.M or M.Ed, as applicable.
Applicants are required to have a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.50 on a five-point scale, or an equivalent letter grade B, in their previous postgraduate programme.
For programmes in the Natural Sciences, candidates must also possess a minimum CGPA of 3.50 on a five-point scale or equivalent grade B.
The university stated that candidates who do not meet the stipulated CGPA requirement may apply for M.Phil/PhD programmes where available.
For Master’s degree programmes, applicants are expected to possess a relevant Bachelor’s degree with a minimum grade point requirement of 2.40, or as applicable. For programmes in the Faculty of Natural Sciences, a CGPA of at least 3.00 is required.
Applicants for postgraduate diploma programmes must possess at least a Third Class degree from PAAU or another recognised university. Holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) with a lower credit in relevant fields are also eligible to apply.
The university further requires all postgraduate applicants to satisfy its ‘O’ Level requirements, including five credit passes in relevant subjects at not more than two sittings. English Language is required for all disciplines, while Mathematics is required for science-based disciplines, Geography, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Health Sciences and Education.
The application fee for PhD programmes is ₦35,000, while applicants for all other postgraduate programmes are required to pay ₦25,000.
The university said the application process would be conducted through its postgraduate application portal, where applicants are expected to provide their O’ Level results, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree certificates, highest degree CGPA, NYSC discharge certificate and referees’ email addresses.
The sale of application forms commenced on August 20, 2026, and will close on October 20, 2026.
Applicants are also required to request their previous institutions to forward their academic transcripts to the School of Postgraduate Studies as part of the admission requirements.
The university urged prospective candidates to carefully review the requirements for their preferred programmes before submitting their applications.
