Ododo Mourns Bamanga Tukur, Describes Death as Loss to Nigeria
Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has mourned the death of former Gongola State Governor Bamanga Tukur.
Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has mourned the death of former Governor of the old Gongola State and former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Mohammed Tukur.
Ododo, in a condolence message issued on Saturday, described Tukur’s death as a loss to Nigeria, particularly at a time when the country continues to draw on the experience of leaders who contributed to its political and socio-economic development.
The Governor described the deceased elder statesman as a prominent Nigerian whose contributions to public service, business and national politics spanned several decades.
According to him, Tukur served the country in various capacities, including as Governor of the old Gongola State and Minister of Industries.
Ododo said Tukur’s years in public service left behind a legacy of experience in public affairs, while his involvement in national politics placed him among the generation of leaders who played significant roles in Nigeria’s political development.
The Kogi Governor extended his condolences to Tukur’s family, the government and people of Adamawa State, as well as his associates and friends.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would forgive the shortcomings of the late elder statesman, grant him Aljannah Firdaus and give his family the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
