DG Catalyst Movement congratulates Sunday Adaji Jr on appointment as acting Kogi PDP PRO
The Director General of the Catalyst Movement, Comrade Israel Evra, has congratulated Hon. Sunday Adaji Jr on his appointment as Acting Public Relations Officer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State.
Adaji’s appointment was contained in a letter dated September 15, 2026, signed by the PDP Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon. Omede Abdullahi.
The letter said the appointment followed the suspension of the former State Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Tijani Umoru Aruwa, over alleged gross misconduct, anti-party activities and insubordination.
According to the letter, the Dekina LGA Executive Committee approved Adaji’s appointment at its meeting on September 15, pending ratification by the State Working Committee and the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings against the suspended officer.
It said the acting PRO would be responsible for overseeing the activities of the office, convening and presiding over meetings in the absence of the substantive officer, as well as promoting party discipline, unity and mobilisation.
Reacting to the development, Evra described Adaji’s appointment as a positive step, expressing confidence in his capacity to strengthen the party’s communication and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said Adaji’s “experience, loyalty and commitment to the party” would be valuable in repositioning the PDP and strengthening its structures across Kogi State.
The appointment comes as the Kogi PDP continues to prepare for the 2027 elections amid ongoing efforts to strengthen its internal structures. The party elected a new state executive in 2024, with Umoru Tijani Aruwa then emerging as State Publicity Secretary.
Evra urged the newly appointed acting PRO to use the opportunity to promote unity, effective communication and reconciliation within the party, while congratulating him on his new responsibility.
