The Okun Youth Stakeholders Forum has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for re-election in 2027, pledging to mobilise grassroots support across the Okun-speaking communities of the state.

The endorsement was announced at a rally held at Igbo Hall in Kabba, the headquarters of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, with youths, youth leaders and stakeholders from the five local government areas in the Okun-speaking part of Kogi State in attendance.

The event began with a procession through major streets of Kabba, where participants marched in support of the two leaders and sang “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand” ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The procession later proceeded to Igbo Hall, where representatives from different local government areas took turns to explain their reasons for supporting Tinubu and Ododo for another term in office.

The speakers cited what they described as the achievements of the two administrations, arguing that their policies, programmes and development initiatives justified continued support from voters.

They also urged Okun youths to remain politically active, united and engaged in the democratic process, describing the 2027 elections as an opportunity to sustain ongoing development efforts.

The forum said its endorsement followed its assessment of Tinubu’s leadership at the federal level and Ododo’s administration in Kogi State. It maintained that continuity in leadership would give both administrations an opportunity to deepen their impact.

Beyond electoral support, the youth stakeholders called for stronger collaboration between the government and young people, highlighting the need for greater youth inclusion in governance, employment opportunities, skills development and education.

They also urged the authorities to sustain programmes aimed at improving the welfare of young people across Okun communities.

The forum pledged to take its campaign for Tinubu and Ododo to communities, wards and polling units across the Okun-speaking area before the 2027 elections.

The organisers expressed optimism that the endorsement would translate into electoral support for the president and the governor, although the rally did not establish how many eligible voters would ultimately back the two leaders.
