2027: Okun Youths Endorse Tinubu, Ododo at Isanlu Rally

Okun youths have endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for second terms, at a political rally organised by the Okun Youth Alliance (OYA) Movement in Isanlu, Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The endorsement was made on Saturday, September 19, 2026, during the OYA 2027 Election Endorsement Rally held at the 1,500-capacity GYB Civic Centre in Isanlu. The event attracted youths and stakeholders from across Okunland. The rally was also publicly announced ahead of the event by the OYA Movement.
Speaking at the gathering, Convener of the OYA Movement, Oladele John Nihi, said the group’s endorsement of Tinubu was informed by what he described as interventions by the Federal Government in Kogi State, particularly in the Okun axis.
Nihi cited infrastructure development and the appointment of Kogi and Okun indigenes to strategic positions within the Federal Government among the factors behind the group’s position.
He specifically referred to appointments involving Okun indigenes, including the chairmanship of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
According to Nihi, the appointments represented increased inclusion of Okun people in national governance under the Tinubu administration.
The OYA convener also announced the group’s endorsement of Governor Ododo for a second term, citing what he described as the governor’s performance and development initiatives across Kogi State.
Nihi said continuity was important to the youths, arguing that sustained leadership would allow ongoing programmes and development initiatives to receive further attention.
He also urged Okun youths to remain actively involved in governance and political processes, stressing that their participation should extend beyond voting during elections to contributing to policy discussions and determining the development priorities of their communities.
The rally featured speeches and solidarity messages from youth leaders and stakeholders from across Okunland.
The organisers described the gathering as an expression of political mobilisation among Okun youths ahead of the 2027 general elections. The endorsement follows other political mobilisation activities in the area in support of Governor Ododo ahead of 2027.
