Loyalists of the All Progressives Congress (APC) converge on Saturday at Okene for the party's flag-off zonal rally in the area to officially present the party flags to their candidates and canvass support for President Muhammadu Buhari in the coming elections.

Addressing the crowd, the Director General Campaign for Kogi Central, Hon. Abubakar Adagu said there was every need for party faithful to roll up their sleeves and get to work to ensure a decisive victory for all the APC candidates.

Hon. Adagu who called on the people of central not to relent in their support to Governor Bello to make sure every elective position was won by their candidates, added that APC as a party was outstanding with its policies and programmes from top down as more priority were being placed on human and infrastructural development.

The DG campaign expressed optimism that the coming election will be as peaceful and orderly as the party's primaries that held sometime in July and was adjudged as one of the most peaceful in recent times by the party's National Working Committee.

“APC is the party that has given our son, Alhaji Yahaya Bello the mandate to serve, correct the ills and maladministration the people have suffered. Currently, we have all kinds of infrastructural projects, ranging from road construction to others in our domain courtesy our son. He needs the support of everyone of us. Let's support our own,” he stressed.

The Chairman, Elders Advisory Council, Kogi Central, Alhaji Yahaya Karaku stressed the need for the people of the area to work with the government with sincerity of purpose and commitment.

Alhaji Karaku expressed delight at the impressive turn out of supporters, saying that the huge crowd despite the short notice was an indication of the acceptance of the party and its candidates in the coming election.

He urged the people of Kogi central to work assiduously for the overwhelming victory of President Muhammudu Buhari as that will further position Kogi state for lofty benefits at the federal level.

Alhaji Karaku reassured the people of Governor Yahaya Bello's willingness to complete and commission every ongoing project in the area before the general elections adding that it will only be fair to reward the Governor by supporting all the APC candidates whole heartily in the forthcoming elections.

Earlier, the Zonal Party Chairman for Kogi Central, Hon. Ahovi Ibrahim said all the candidates put forward by the party for the next election were candidates with reputable records, who have carved a niche for themselves in their chosen career, before venturing into politics.

Present in the rally that was well attended were; the five Local Government Administrators in Kogi Central, all the APC bigwigs and appointees from Kogi Central in the New Direction Government and all APC flag bearers ranging from the senatorial candidate, Alhaji Yakubu Oseni, to all the House of Representatives candidates and House of Assembly candidates.
