Gov Bello inaugurates Ndigbo GYB Support Group

The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has inaugurated the Kogi State Ndigbo GYB Support Group in Lokoja, the capital of the state. 

Performing the inauguration, the Governor applauded the Igbo for the steadfastness and determination to whatever they put their minds to, and assured them that his government would always protect their interest. 

The Governor who particularly lauded the tenacity of the Igbo in his cabinet, he said it has changed the perception that some people in the state have about them. 

He said Kogi is open for business, noting that whoever is ready to invest in the state has the opportunity of sinking his money in an environment that is secured and a market awaiting exploration. 

The Governor was particularly emphatic about the need to preach the unity of Nigeria, saying that his administration only thinks of the capacities of its appointees, and not their ethnic and religious background. 

He said: “As long as you live in Kogi State and we see that you have something positive to offer us, we would be ready to listen to you and if need be, engage you. We are only interested in the development of our state and the welfare of the citizens.”

Governor Bello, who used the occasion to inform that his government has concluded necessary arrangements to build an Industrial Park, said it is envisioned for the purpose of giving entrepreneurs and investors requisite facility for exploration and societal developmment. 

The Director General, Research, Documentation and Speech Writing to the Governor, Barrister Moses Okezie had earlier told the Governor that the imperative of the Ndigbo Support Group for GYB was informed by the Governor's show of detribalised leadership style and commitment to fairness and equity. 

He said the Igbo in Kogi State feel a sense of belonging under the current government, hence their commitment towards repaying him through practical show of support for his administration. 

Also Speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Non-indigene Affairs, Hon Kelvin Uzorchukwu, assured the Governor of 100 % support to the policies and programmes of the current administration in the state.
