Gov Bello unveils fresh social intervention programme for petty traders in Kogi State

Kogi State Government has concluded plans to unveil a new social intervention programme that would compliment that of the Federal Government, in form of soft loans for petty traders in the state.

To give the programme needed credibility, InsidestoryNg exclusively gathered that the programme would employ the services of youth corps members who would go to various business vicinities with forms which the traders are expected to fill to access the loans.

The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja gave the indication on Friday in Lokoja during a campaign tour of various polling units of Ward 'A' in Lokoja Local Government Area.

He said the present administration in Kogi State is one that consider the plight of the less privileged in society, and assured the voters that Governor Bello would continue to give special attention to the plight of the downtrodden in society, especially women and youths.

Onoja, who urged the people to give their support to the APC candidate at the forthcoming by-election into the Federal House of Representatives for Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency, reaffirmed the resolve of Kogi State Government to assist  President Muhammadu Buhari in his efforts to make life meaningful for the people rather than compounding the problems.

The Chief of Staff told the people of the Ward that the present administration in the state has demonstrated that it is a listening government by directly addressing their plights, assuring them of plans to touch the lives of every Kogian in many positive ways.

He said the government has taken into cognisance the fact that the Ward is the largest and the most cosmopolitan in Lokoja LGA, hence additional appointment for indigenes of the area by the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

The Chief of Staff further used the occasion to assure them that government is ready to address the problems raised by various spokepersons of the units, and solicited for their support for the APC candidate for the August 11th by-election, Alhaji Haruna Isah.

Earlier in their addresses, various spokespersons which included Youth and women groups, itemised various problems confronting their areas and wards, to which they solicited for government support in addressing them.
