Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has promised to construct an overhead bridge at the main gate of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, to avoid any form of dangers that the students face as a result of location of the gate on a major high way in the state.
Bello spoke in continuation of his familiarization visits to all higher institutions in the state in order to have firsthand knowledge of challenges they face.
The Governor, who also promised to embark on new hostel project in the school, assured the students of the commitment of his administration to impacting every citizen of the state.
He told the students that the purpose of his visit was to have first hand knowledge of their challenges in order to effect practical solutions to them.
According to him, every staff and student of the polytechnic is important to him, and stressed the need for their cooperation in moving the state forward.
While allaying the fears of workers in the institution, the Governor said no genuine worker would be laid off, stating that only those with questionable credentials would be affected.
He assured the workers that all salaries being owed them would be settled at the end of the month, assuring that no one would be short changed.
He also assured the school management of well equiped laboraties, boreholes and good roads within the campus premises.
