ICDA hails Edward Onoja for commitment to developing Igala Nation

Igala Sociocultural Organization, the Igala Cultural Devevelopment Association (ICDA) has heaped words of praise on the Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Edward Onoja for his commitment towards uplifting the socioeconomic well-being of the Igala people and the State in general.

National President of the association, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Amodu made the commendation on Wednesday when he led other members of his executive to Onoja's Ogugu home to convey their new year message.

He described the Chief of staff as worthy son of Igalaland and an example to the virtues of the ethnic stock in Kogi East.

According to him,  if past leaders of Igala origin were doing exactly what Onoja is currently doing – impacting lives of the people through attraction of infrastructural development, the area would have been far removed from the under-development and backwardness that is its lot.

He stressed that though the association is not a political or religious one, the Igala people know who is truly theirs and championing their cause and would pay for the kind gestures accorded them at the right time.

“We are not blind to the fact that you have made a lot sacrifices for our people, the entire Kogi East and Kogi State in general. We are very proud of you for your demonstration of a leadership model that is rare in this part of the country. You have helped put Igala on the international pedestal again,” he noted.

He also took out time to applaud the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for providing the state with a leadership style that is devoid of tribal and religious colouration, which is a departure from what obtained in the past.

In his remarks, Edward Onoja thanked the body for their kind words and used the occasion to sell the candidature of all APC candidates in the upcoming elections while soliciting their support in the interest of the entire Igala race and Kogi State in general.
