Igala Students honour Ebije with good leadership award

The Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja Chapter of the Igala Students’ Association (ISA), weekend, honoured Dr Ugbede-ojo Paul Ebije with “Good Leadership and Political Sagacity” award.

Dr Ebije who is the Director General Door to Door Movement for Muhammadu Buhari 2019, as reported, was chosen for the prestigious award by the organisers based on his contributions to the development of youth and democracy in the state.

The Polytechnic Chapter of the ISA’s “Attah Igala,” Mr Vincent Ajodo Ilemona Jnr said “Dr Ebije is being recognized for the many positive things he has done for the development of Igala land and the youth in particular. However, his humanitarian services, like the award of scholarships, free medicare for indigent rural dwellers and his meteoric rise to political stardom in a very short time are amongst the qualities that qualified him for the award.”

While presenting the award, Apostle Festus Alilu who was at the occasion as the Spiritual Father of the Day, said “Dr Ebije is a rising star” whose political influence and popularity in politics were becoming noticeable even in the spiritual realms.

“It is my honour and privilege to be given this opportunity to present this award to you. I’m sure that the student chose you for this award for obvious reasons. You are a star, a twinkling one that may soon be noticed everywhere in Kogi State and beyond,” the clergyman said.

In his reaction, Dr Ebije who tripled as the awardee, chairman and chief launcher at the occasion, thanked the students for finding him worthy for the honour. “I am here today to honour your invitation not just for the award but because anything for the youth is of utmost importance to me. I thanked the ISA Attah and all the association’s members in the polytechnic for their efforts in contributing to the unity of Igala students and their peaceful coexistence with other ethnic groups on the campus,” he said.

The Buhari 2019 campaigner who ceased the opportunity to call on the students to vote massively for the Nigerian President and the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the next elections, launched the ISA souvenirs with a very huge amount of money.

“You must continue to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) so that the developmental drives of Muhammadu Buhari, particularly in the area of youth development can be sustained with his return in 2019 as President. We must also support Governor Yahaya Bello, who has like Buhari empowered the youth and put many of them in key leadership positions, and all other APC candidates in the next election,” he said.
