Islamic cleric preaches tolerance as Muslims in Ebiraland hold mid-term prayer for KGSG

Muslims have been called upon to be tolerant and show exemplary characteristics in all their dealings as demonstrated by the noble Prophet Mohammed, Peace Be Upon Him.

An Islamic cleric and Justice of the Kogi State Shariah Court of Appeal, Justice Nurudeen Yusuf Abdallah made the call on Sunday at Okene in an occasion to mark Eid-El-Maulud and prayer for the Two Years Anniversary Celebration of Kogi State government under Governor Yahaya Bello.

The occasion was organised by the family of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Arc Abdulmumuni Okara where the clerics that attended prayed for the government and the Governor’s aide.

Justice Nurudeen, who was the guest speaker at the event, gave examples of the lifetime of the Prophet who had hosted unbelievers inside his mosque, which some of his guests entered into with their shoes on, an action that was tolerated by Mohammed and his followers despite the discomfort of few.

He therefore emphasised the need for leaders to be patient in all their dealings with humanity, and particularly called on the celebrant, Okara and the entire Muslim Community to emulate that virtue in all their undertakings.

The guest speaker then prayed for the continuous peace of the country, the government of Kogi state, the Governor, Arc Okara and the society at large.

Also speaking, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, HRM Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the organisers of the event and prayed for the peace and tranquillity of the country, the state, the present administration and Ebiraland in general.

Speaking in an interview with the InsideStorycrew, the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Bello on Civil Society and Non Governmental Organizations, Hajiya Aisha Abu Ali also expressed joy over the occasion and expressed gratitude to Allah for the event.

She used the occasion to also pray for the government of the state, imploring that peace continues to reign in all parts in the state and within the entire Muslim ummah.

Reacting, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in whose name the entire family gathered, Abdulmumuni Okara said he was happy with the turnout, especially as it celebrated the birth of the noble Prophet Mohammed (PBUH).

He praised the Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for giving him the opportunity to serve in his cabinet, and prayed that Allah gave the administration the wherewithal to pilot governance in the right direction.

Okara, who noted that Bello has done very well within the period he has taken power, called on citizens of the state to continue to pray for him to be able to provide them with dividends of democracy.

Recitation of the Holy Qur’an, songs of praise and worship and general adoration of Almighty Allah dominated the occasion which was witnessed by Islamic Scholars within and outside the state, traditional rulers, youth and women groups, political office holders among others.
