KGSG Approves State Health Insurance Scheme for Civil Servants

The Kogi State Government has approved the establishment of State Health Insurance Agency for civil servants in the State.

The decision, Inside Story gathered, was taken after the Kogi State Executive Council meeting at the Lugard House on Wednesday.

The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, who is the chairman of the council, said the health scheme which would be headed by an Agency, was established to reduce the cost of health care on the state workers.

The Governor who spoke through the State Director General of Media and Publicity, Fanwo Kingsley during a press briefing in Government House, Lokoja, said extensive deliberation was made to facilitate and quicken the establishment of the proposed health scheme.

He also said an executive bill was sent to the State House of Assembly for a swift consideration and approval, as the scheme would be a giant stride by the administration to revamp and restructure the state's health service for the benefit of all.
