Kogi APC chair throws weight behind fmr FAAN Director as she picks women leader form
Activities are shaping up towards the forthcoming National Congress of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Nigeria with Kogi State Chairman of the party, Hon Abdullahi Bello backing the aspiration of one of its own for the position of National Women Leader.
Speaking, Hon Bello applauded the quality of character and leadership trait that former Director Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa was bringing to bear on the party, in view of her antecedents as a capable mobiliser of women and youths.
He expressed optimism that her formal indication of interest would be the beginning of her victory, which he hoped would culminate in the party's overall victory in all future elections.
Hajia Salamatu, who was accompanied by cheering crowd on arrival for the purchase of nomination form for the position, expressed gratitude for the show of love and support by APC loyalists.
She expressed hope that the pump that heralded her to the party secretariat would signal her victory at the convention, and promised to take evevryone along when she emerged as the substantive women leader.
She explained that advocacy for the survival and success of women, children and youths has been her way of life, saying her decision to seek to lead the women of the ruling party was a way she intended to advance her course.
She further highlighted well thought out agenda which she explained would form the core of her priorities to elevate the status of women in Nigeria politics and entrench APC leadership in the country.
She therefore called on all party faithful to back her aspiration to lead the women of APC.
