Lokoja LG administrator lauds Gov Bello for Healthcare Plus launch
The administrator for Lokoja Local Government Area, Lawal Shiru has praised the efforts of Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello in upgrading the healthcare infrastructure to meet up with the healthcare needs of the people.
In a speech he delivered, Thursday in Lokoja during the launch of the new comprehensive health programme aimed at taking healthcare needs to the door steps on rural people titled; “Healthcare Plus .”
Shiru, who noted that Kogi has never had it so good since its creation in the health sector, stressed that the programme was in tandem with world best practices, hence, achieving its aims and objectives.
He was particular about the positive impact the programme would have on women and children in the rural communities across the state, and thanked the Governor for his foresight and determination towards ensuring the state achieves universal healthcare coverage.
The administrator promised to replicate the project in Lokoja Local Government Area to improve the quality of his people’s lives and take governance closer to the people at the grassroots.
While describing the Governor as a compassionate man with the interest of his people at heart, the administrator recalled some of the fruitless efforts that have been put in place to gain intervention in the health sector, until the now.
Shiru said with the flag-off of the programme, the administration has opened a new vista in the efforts to build a strong political will capable of ending preventable and maternal deaths in the rural areas.
He congratulated the Governor for his exploits in all sectors of the state which have taken the entire state to an enviable height, and pledged the commitment of his people to the programmes of the administration.
