Lokoja LG administrator receives plaudit from Kogi State on his performance
Lokoja Local Government Administrator, Hon Shiru Lawal has been applauded for his efforts at complementing the efforts of the state government in the provision of necessary services for the people.
The state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello made the commendation on Monday in Lokoja at an event to mark the Second Year Anniversary of the administrator's leadership in the council.
Bello, who was represented at the event by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Ayoade Folashade Arike said Shiru has performed creditably in view of the effective manner he has utilised the resources accruing to the council since his assumption of office.
The Governor was particularly impressed by his inclusion of the physically challenged in the society who were empowered at the occasion through the provision of mobility tools, saying the gesture had shown the human face with which he had been piloting the affairs of the LGA.
He encouraged the physically challenged in the state to be up and doing despite their conditions, saying they were able people and not disabled.
Speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon Edward Onoja stated that the administrator had justified his appointment through his efforts at empowering the youths, the physically challenged and other vulnerable members of the public.
He said the occasion was evident of what the administrator had been able to do, hence the genuine love being showed him by the entire people of the area.
Hon Onoja noted leadership was about coming down to the people's levels by providing them with basic services, things, he said Shiru had been doing, hence the reciprocal gestures.
The event was organized by a Support Group, Shiru Back2Back Support Group put together by Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, a member of the Local Government administrative team, who said the group was necessitated by the efforts of Hon Shiru to put smiles on the faces of people in the council.
Reacting, the administrator applauded the government of Yahaya Bello for the support he has enjoyed which has encouraged him to touch the lives of his people, adding that it was responsible for the success he has achieved so far.
He therefore called on the people to continue to support government at all levels while also soliciting for prayers for them to succeed.
In their various reactions, the physically challenged association and other stakeholders all praised the administrator for his kind gesture which they said was first since their existence.
They therefore pledged their loyalty to government at all times.
