Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Hon Edward Onoja has raised an alarm over the quality of education being enjoyed in rural areas of the state and Nigeria.

In a remark he delivered, Monday, at the Kogi State Education Summit in Lokoja, Onoja highlighted the need for the value of old, which they enjoyed, to be brought back to the sector.

Onoja, who was emphatic on the quality of teachers in current public schools, expressed the determination of the present administration to addressing the ill.

Education, the Chief of Staff said, was critical to the development of every society, and expressed the need for all stakeholders to come up with relevant measures that would assist government in tackling the rot.

According to him, the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello places premium on the sector, hence, it has made it its number priority in its administrative blueprint document.

He assured that the Governor would not leave any stone unturned in its efforts of achieving its set goals, stressing that education was cardinal in any developmental endeavour.

Onoja, who lamented the continuous widening of gap between the fortunate and the less fortunate in the society, stated that it is only through qualitative education that the issue of class disparity can be addressed.

The Chief of Staff therefore appealed to all major stakeholders at the summit to help the present government in its efforts to providing the next generation with quality education that can put them at par with their counterparts from other parts of the world.
