Physically challenged persons want Gov Bello for second term in Kogi State

Kogi State Association of People Living with Disability, today, staged a solidarity walk in Lokoja, the state capital, to express their desire for the return of Governor Bello for another term.

To this end, the disabled persons walked from Ganaja Junction through the Stella Obasanjo State Library and were received at the State Government House, Lokoja by the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Hon Edward Onoja.

While receiving the group, the Chief of Staff pointed out that they had a special place in the heart of the present government, because although they were physically challenged, they had challenged the physically abled people with their intellectual display.

The Chief of Staff then used the medium to thank God over the recent victory the All Progressives Congress recorded at the polls, affirming that their support contributed to the feat.

Onoja, who also thanked the people for helping to position Governor Bello as a shining star among his colleagues, emphasized that the numerous achievements recorded translated to the results at the polls.

He affirmed that the State and the APC had made meaningful political progress, and as such, silenced the mouth of rumour mongers who had prophesied doom for the administration since inception.

The Chief of Staff again thanked the physically challenged delegates for supporting and believing the New Direction Government despite its imperfections, assurong that Governor Bello was making all efforts to put to bed every concern in the state.

As regards their physically challenge’s request, Chief Edward assured that all matters would be looked into stating that he was confident of the Governor’s assent to the Disability Bill passed by the Kogi State House of Assembly.

In his own remark, the State Chairman of the Association of Kogi State People Living with Disabilities, Arome Ibrahim said that their resolve to endorse Governor Bello for a second term and stage a solidarity walk in that regard was based on the benefits which the disabled community had derived from his Government.

He said as an Association they have enjoyed inclusiveness and the current administration has eradicated issues of discrimination suffered in past.
