By Justina Oloniruha

As the search for peace intensifies in Kogi State, a group of students of Federal University Lokoja, has taken the bull by the horn by being a vanguard of tranquility.

In an exclusive chat with InsideStory in Lokoja, the students led by Omeiza Moses Audu said the group has identified the important role that the youths play in any positive endeavour that would entrench peaceful coexistence in the society.

Moses, popularly known as Troy, said their campaign, simply tagged, “Reforming Kogi Students,” has been designed to preach the gospel of unity and patriotism among them.

According to him, the campaign has been patterned after the New Direction Blueprint of the present administration of Yahaya Bello which is determined to chart a new positive course for the state.

He stressed the need for the students to discard any principle that embraces religious or tribal sentiments for the progress and development of the entire state.

“It is only through such undertakings that Kogi State would reach regain its pride of place as a pacesetter in the nation’s drive towards overall development,” he said.

Moses therefore called on his contemporaries in all higher institutions in the state to key into the initiative to ensure that Kogi moves forward with new generation of youths as frontrunners.
