AAMCO alumni pays solidarity visit to Kogi COS, lauds his good gestures

The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Moh’d Jamiu on Tuesday received his Abdulaziz Atta Memorial College, AAMCO, Class of 2000 schoolmates who paid him a solidarity visit in Lokoja to celebrate the recent victory of Governor Yahaya Bello at the Supreme Court in Abuja.

This was made known on Tuesday in a Press release signed by the Special Assistant to the COS, Abubakar Mujahid.

The President of the Alumni, Comr. Haruna Muhammad introduced the members of the set, while he commended Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing one of them as his Chief of Staff.

The class President used the medium to enumerate the good qualities of Pharm. Asuku, describing him as a thoroughbred intellectual with a remarkable track record in academics, his profession, and currently as the COS.

In his words, “You’re indeed a round peg in a round hole and we’re confident that certainly, you will leave the office better than you met it.”

The class President also thanked the Chief of Staff for magnanimously enlisting them on his personal payroll, and even seeking employment for some, stating that the gesture has gone a long way to improve their standard of living and caring for their needs.

In his response, the Chief of Staff thanked his schoolmates for their solidarity and show of love since his appointment as he urged them to continue to pray for the success of the present administration.

Pharm. Asuku said the position of leadership was a call to serve and even though everyone would not be fully satisfied, the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello would do its best to deliver the dividends of democracy to reach everyone, down to the grassroots.

He added that as a public figure, he was accountable to the public, and he must give back to society noting that charity begins at home, and it is important he reached out to as many as he could

He however, urged his classmates and citizens, to exercise patience with the government of Gov. Yahaya Bello saying that the governor, in addition to what he is doing already, has a bigger plan for the people of Kogi State.

“We should be patient with the government, Gov. Yahaya Bello has great plans for Kogi State and its citizens, and very soon the results will be very glaring for all to see

“I have always prioritized the health of the people and urged the people to take their health seriously because if you are not healthy you can’t reap benefits of the development by the government,” he said.

The Chief of Staff said the task before him was enormous, pointing out that his areas of concern are the imminent problem of cultism and drug abuse currently plaguing Ebiraland while tasking his classmates to individually stand against these vices.

He expressed government’s stand to permanently put an end to violence in Ebiraland and Kogi State at large pointing out that the last election was the most peaceful Kogi State has ever experienced especially Ebiraland where elections used to be marred with violence.

The Chief of Staff used the opportunity to encourage youths especially Ebira youths to be hardworking while they also humble themselves to start small, love one another, go to school or learn a skill noting that was the pathway for transformation in the society.
