The people of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area have been urged to vote overwhelmingly for the re-election of Governor Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Rural Urban Development/Project Monitoring, Hon. Benjamin Amodu made the remark in an interview with newsmen in his area.

Hon Amodu enumerated the qualities and impact of Governor Bello and his running mate, Chief Edward Onoja on the people and advised them to take advantage of the opportunity to vote the duo for more gains.

“You will agree with me that in last three and half years of Governor Bello led-administration, they have been remarkable difference in our land. Considering the number of people they have rescued from political obscurity without sentiments in their short stay in office you will agree with me that they have done well and deserve our support.

“We have had Igala sons ruled the state since it creation, yet our communities are backwards. Communities without potable water, access roads, and electricity have been remembered in their time and we are very hopeful that more communities will be touched before the elapses of his administration base on the current effort to electrify over 200 communities in Igalaland.

He reassured his constituents that he would continue to defend their interest, and however, encouraged them not to waste their votes their votes on opposition that has not bettered their lot for 16 years.

“While others are planning otherwise, being petty, we are planning to go out in our numbers to canvass support for Governor Bello and Chief Edward Onoja to be voted massively by our people. Do not pay attention to these people who couldn’t advance our course while in leadership.

“APC government even right from the top had done a lot in impacting positively on the lives of Nigerians, hence the need for us to vote solidly for Governor Bello for second term to tap into more opportunities that abound at the federal level through him,” he said.

“Remember that a vote for Governor Bello and Onoja is a vote for the restructuring of Kogi State, which has been our desire for years. This is our chance, we must not allow this opportunity to pass us by. The ultimate realisation of this dream will depend on what we do with our PVCs on November 16.

“So, let us show our loyalty and commitment to our dream by going out to vote them.
I urge you all to be well guided by the rules and regulations of our land as we approach the election, so as not to fall prey to the antics of some overzealous political jobbers.”

Hon Amodu however expressed optimism that Governor Bello would win with landslide victory, considering the support that he is receiving day and night from the people.
