A Lokoja based good governance youth advocacy group, Alliance for Promotion of Youth Inclusion in Governance has lend its voice to the call for Kogi State and the federal government to consider Lokoja for the state’s ministerial slot in the federal executive council.

A statement signed by the President, Hon Michael Adoga and the Secretary, Umar Ohimozi and made available to newsmen in Lokoja said they align themselves with the position of Lokoja Consultative Youth Forum (LCYF) which had earlier canvassed the same thing and suggested former Health Commissioner in the state, Hon Suleiman Baba-Ali.

The document noted that Hon Baba-Ali was an astute administrator with cognate experience required to fill the position and appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello and President Muhammadu Buhari to give him a look-in.

The group described Baba-Ali as a staunch supporter of the APC and it’s change mantra, noting that appointing him would be putting a round on a round hole.

They noted in their release that the former commissioner had expended personal resources and efforts to ensure victory for the ruling party, adding that their release was a sequel because it was time for the present administration at both state and federal levels to give Lokoja its pride of place in the scheme of things.

While further stressing that other parts of the state had had their fair share of the position for Kogi State, they added that Lokoja had all it takes for anyone to be effective as a minister.

The group thanked other like-minded stakeholders who hold brief for Lokoja and urged the government to reciprocate the votes being invested in the APC by voters in Lokoja by giving them the opportunity.
