The APC Campaign Council for Ijumu 1 (Gbede) State Constituency has commenced a community-to-community mobilisation campaign for the party’s flag bearer, Hon. Femi Esemikose, ahead of the forthcoming House of Assembly election.
The first day of the grassroots tour covered Okoro Gbede, Araromi Gbede, Odokoro Gbede, Agrigbon and Ayeh Gbede, where the campaign team engaged constituents, consulted community stakeholders and formally presented Esemikose as the APC candidate.
The campaign council was led by its Director-General, Hon. Oladele John Nihi, and included party stalwarts and government officials, among them Hon. Sikiru Hamza, who also contested the APC ticket, as well as Hon. Amodu Abubakar Prime and Hon. Kelvin Oluseyi Eleta, both Senior Special Assistants to the Executive Governor of Kogi State.
The council said the tour provided an opportunity to engage directly with constituents and stakeholders across the communities as part of its mobilisation efforts for the election.
Nihi commended Hamza for supporting the party after the primary election, describing his participation in the campaign as an indication of reconciliation and cohesion within the party.
He said, “after every contest comes reconciliation, and after reconciliation comes victory.”
Nihi said the campaign council would continue taking its message to communities across the constituency and engaging stakeholders ahead of the election.
“The journey has begun. We will take our message to every community, mobilise every stakeholder and work tirelessly to deliver victory for Hon. Femi Esemikose and all candidates of the APC,” he said.
The APC campaign council also reiterated its commitment to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo and Hon. Idris Salman, describing their re-election as “sacrosanct and not negotiable.”
The grassroots tour is expected to continue across communities within the Ijumu 1 State Constituency as the APC intensifies its mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming election.
