APC National Leadership gets kudos from Gov Bello for addressing party’s post primary fallout in Kogi squarely
Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has commended the national leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC for ensuring it addressed all post primary election issues in Kogi State squarely without any form of blowback.
Govenor Bello gave the commendation in Lokoja on Thursday while inaugurating its campaign Council for November’s governorship election in Lokoja on Thursday.
The Governor who was represented by his Chief of Staff and running mate in the election, Hon Edward Onoja said such decisive action had helped in preventing any distraction capable of robbing the party of victory.
According to the Governor who said there was need for anyone to face their challenges on time and address them decisively, noted that such was done and now the party could prepare better to face whoever would challenge them in the election.
He said he approved for there to be a campaign council that cut across all structures of the party down to the ward and unit levels to give it a good spread, and that it is being chaired by himself with the state party Chairman, Hon Abdullahi Bello as Vice Chairman to make decision making easy.
The council, the Governor said compromises several committees including Finance, Contact and Mobilisation committees, Media and Publicity committe, Venue, Protocol and Entertainment committe, Medical committe, and Transportation & Logistics committees.
The rest are the Legal committee, reconciliation and decamping committee, security and intelligence Monitoring committee, and System and Audit committee.
The immediate past member that represented Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency, Hon Haruna Isah; Hon Haruna Idoko Musa and Hon Abubakar Zubeiru are Deputy Directors General for West, East and Central Senatorial Districts respectively.
The Contact and Mobilisation committee is to be Chaired by Engr Abubakar Ohere with Hon Gowon Paul as secretary. The Media and Publicity Committee is headed by the DG on Media and Publicity to the Governor, Hon Kingsley Fanwo and Hon Tom Ohikere as Secretary.
For the Venue, Protocol and Entertainment committe, Hon Gabriel Olofu is the Chairman with Hon Abdulaziz King as Secretary. The Medical Committee has the CMD of Kogi State Specialist Hospital, Hon Ahmed Attah as Chairman with Hon Teina Maliki as Secretary.
The Monitoring, System and Audit committee, the Governor said is to be chaired by Alhaji Yakubu Okala, the State Auditor General and Hon Kassim Suleiman as Secretary. The Transport and Logistics committee has Shuaibu Ojih as head.
He further revealed that the Legal Committee is to be headed by the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mohammed Ibrahim (SAN) and Barr Moses Okezie while the Reconsolidation and Decamping committee is headed by Former Deputy Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon Aduku Ojodale and Hon Salisu Akawu Seidu (SAS). The Security and Intelligence Committee Chaired by Commander Jerry Omodara (RTD) and ACP Aurelius Adehoh (rtd).
They have been charged to ensure quality work that would ensure overwhelming victory for the APC in the November governorship election.
