As National Assembly former member, Haruna Isah bows out, Lokoja Local Government Administrative team member, Abdullahi Adamu appreciates Kogi APC stakeholders
Member of Lokoja Local Government Administrative team, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu has expressed gratitude to all stakeholders in the Kogi State APC for the support enjoyed by the immediate past member of the National Assembly for Lokoja/Kogi (Kotonkarfe) Federal Constituency, Hon Haruna Isah.
Comrade Abdullahi, who was the secretary to Hon Haruna Isah Campaign Council made the commendation in an interview with journalists in Lokoja.
He particularly expressed appreciation to the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello; the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Hon Edward Onoja; the state party Chairman, Hon Abdullahi Bello; Local Government party executives and leaders and the electorates and the entire people of Lokoja/Kogi Kotoniarfe for their overwhelming support for Hon Haruna Isah during the electioneering and when he was at the helm as member of the National Assembly.
Comrade Abdullahi said he was proud to be associated with those stakeholders for the unique roles they played in ensuring that an individual from Lokoja II tasted the representative position in the federal constituency for the first time.
He also lauded the immediate past lawmaker for his modest achievements over the short period of eight months that he occupied the seat and prayed Almighty God to reward him abundantly.
He mentioned some of the achievements recorded by Hon Haruna to include sinking of solar powered boreholes in parts of Lokoja I including Sarkin – Noma, Kabawa, Lokongoma, Barracks, Cinema, Shettima, Alheri, Marine Quartets, among others.
Other areas Comrade Abdullahi recalled to have enjoyed the same benefit include Budon, Ashe, Buge, Apata, Gbaude, Owara, Felele, Kupa Emiwo among other areas in Lokoja II.
“The solar powered borehole gesture was also extended to Kogi Kotonkarfe as the lawmaker sunk some in Okate, Ette Yense, Kpareke, Kpakpaji, Achara, Odaki, Cemetery Area, Otoye, Gegu New Extension, Angwowa, Gana-Gana, Gegu, Kwakwa – Bassa, Gegu Egba and Chikara communities,” he said.
The administrative team member also mentioned the installation of solar panels for electricity generation in several parts of Kogi LGA, particularly in areas such as Muzue, Ogbangede, Ajara Chakaruku, Odimose, Kelebe, Sabon – Gari, Okpaka, 9.kasemeya, Kpakpazi, Akporuka, Akabu, Adifo, Gana-Gana, Oboku communities, among others.
Comrade Abdullahi, who incidentally also served as secretary to the Hauna Isah Campaign Committee further recalled that within the short period, the immediate past lawmaker also provided solar panels for Budon, Edo, Dogi, Tiji, Gori, Taraba, Jakura, Eggan and Kinami communities, assuring Hon Haruna would have done more had time been on his side.
He added that aside provision of such amenities, the Hon Haruna Isah Woman Empowerment Scheme identified and impacted several women groups in the constituency where more than 150 seoected and given seed capital of ₦ 10, 000 each as a micro finance to shore up their businesses.
Recall that Hon Haruna Idah is a one time Councilor representing Kakanda Ward in Lokoja Local Government. He was also a Permanent Member 1 of Kogi State Pension Board; a House of Assembly strong contender in 2007; he was also the Chairmanship candidate for Lokoja Local Government under the platform of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC.
Alhaji Haruna was the Lokoja Local Government Party Chairman for the All Progressives Congress, APC; the Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Capital and Urban Development before he emerged APC candidate for the rerun election into the vacant Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency.
In the house, he was a member of Committee on Works, Justice, Federal character and Petroleum Downstream.
