“GYB Women of Substance” drum support for Gov Bello’s re-election

A female group – “GYB Women of Substance” has called on the people of Kogi State to support the re-election bid of Governor Bello in the November 16th Governorship Election.

The group made the call shortly after endorsement of Governor Bello for second term in Lokoja after which it went round four secondary schools to distribute school items and pay tuition fees of some indigent students.

The coordinator of the group, Temitope Grace said the aim was to motivate and show care to the school children who had performed creditably in their academic pursuit and to equally encourage them that the government of Governor Bello was mindful of them.

Temitope noted that the New Direction Government under the leadership of Governor Bello was interested in education, the welfare of the school children and women as well, which informed their decision to assist students.

“The administration of Governor Bello loves and place priority on education. You can see the much needed progress this administration has made in education, health, agriculture and others, since assumption in office.”

“The governor is a leader with a clear-cut vision. He deserves a second term bid in office to enable him consolidate on his achievements, reason why, we will go all out to garner support for his re-election,” she added.

She called on other well meaning citizens to emulate the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Edward Onoja and his boss Governor Yahaya Bello to impact more lives as they cannot do it alone.

The group expressed gratitude to Mrs Okee Ejura Mercy Onoja, wife of the Chief of Staff to Governor Bello for her contribution towards the success of their programme adding that her love for her fellow women and children in the State was unequal and prayed God to protect and guide her always.

The schools visited are; Universal Basic Education Lokongoma where school fees of eight (8) Students were paid in cash and Muslim Community Secondary School with another Eight (8) students benefitting from the school fees payments.

Others include; Science Secondary School where ten (10) students benefited and Army day Secondary school with eight (8) beneficiaries.

Last week the group equally went round some public primary schools to distribute school uniforms to pupils.
