Bello4Nigeria Network Empowers 100 Widows in Kogi

No fewer than hundred widows from Lokoja Local Governmemt Area of Kogi State have been given cash donations to help them cushion the effect of catering for their families and to improve on their businesses.

The cash of five thousand naira each to the beneficiaries was the first in the series by the Bello4Nigeria widows empowerment Token ( WET) organised by Mukadam Asiwaji Ashiru Idris Foundation under the auspices of the Bello4Nigeria Presidential ambition.

The presentation ceremony which was held in Lokoja on Thursday according to the promoter, Honourable commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic planning Asiwaji Ashiru Idris said the programme is a sign post of what to expect when the State BELLO KEEP PROGRAM starts in the State later in the year.

He added that women who constitute majority of the voters ought to be motivated in their businesses which has multiplier effect on the families, saying it was his modest contribution to improve on their welfare and wellbeing.

According to the commissioner, Governor Bello no do doubt has great passion for the female gender as key political offices were reserved for them, asked them to support his presidential ambition for 2023 General Elections.

While calling on them to support Bello4Nigeria project, he told them that the government was aware of their plights, hence, he has rolled out series of programmes that will cushion harsh economic realities.

According to him” I feel your pains being alone in the upkeep of your families. We assure you that Gov. Yahaya Bello is aware of your plights. He is working hard to ease the pains. This token we are given you today is like one of the programmes prepared to help you by the State government.

” The Governor in his love for women, ensured high positions in the administration, such as Head of Service, Secretary to the government, Vice Chairman of the 21 Local Governmemt Councils and Council leaders and at least three councillors each for the LGCs were occupied by women” He informed.

In a remarks, the commissioner for Women affairs, represented by the Director Child Affairs in the Ministry, Mrs Folashade Olawatoyin, commended the organizer for alleviating the plights of the vulnerable widows who are being weighed down by the yoke of poverty.

She urged the commissioner to keep up the good work as the Widows would now know that there is somebody somewhere feeling their pains.

She prayed that God will approve the Clarion calls of the people for Gov. Bello to throw his weight into the race to rescue the nation in the interest of the youths and women.

In the same vein, the coordinator of Bello4Nigeria widows Empowerment Token, Comr. Kunle Ola, said it was the believe of Gov. Yahaya Bello in the suffering the widows were passing through that led to the programme being conceived, adding that the amount, if judiciously used would go along way in assisting the families.

He said widows from Lokoja in the Kogi West Senatorial District are the first beneficiaries, promised to cover all the 21 LGA in the State within shortest time.

Meanwhile 80 year old Aisha Abubakar with 11 children her late husband left behind, said she was grateful to the Initiator of the empowerment and for considering her to benefit from the largesse.

She promised to use the token to defray the school fees of some of her children and pray God to grant the political aspirations of Governor Yahaya Bello.

Similarly Speaking, Roseline Olukotun, Nndama Alfa, Margret Achigi and Aisha Mohammed, other beneficiaries, could not hide their joy as they all prayed fervently for Gov. Yahaya Bello to actualize the desire by the people to aspire to the Presidency in 2023.

They described the gesture as one that would help them in their petty trading, expressed satisfaction with the gesture as coming at a better time.

Highlights of the Bello4Nigeria widows empowerment Token ( WET) was prayers by the Widows for peace and prosperity of Kogi State, the successful actualization of the 2023 Presidential Ambition of Gov. Yahaya Bello if he accepts to run.
