The name Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, is one of the few names that instantly command attention and respect whenever and wherever it’s mentioned across the breadth and length of the confluence State.

Ladies and Gentlemen, on this day ‘7th April, 2020’ His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello in his wisdom saw Dr. Usman Ogbo worthy of an appointment as Acting Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja and was a year later confirmed as substantive Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic.

Over the years, Dr. Usman’s sheer commitments, unwavering dedication, fantastic example of wisdom, leadership and foresight with unmatched intellectual endowment, excellent human relations and effective management of human resources has endeared him to individuals, organizations, government and society in general, thereby attracting commendations, awards and nominations across-the-board.

This virtue is earned over the years through painstaking selflessness and sacrificial service rendered by a true patriot towards the growth and development of his alma- mater – Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja.

When a Greek philosopher said he was looking for a man of courage with candour, little did he realize that there are men like Dr. Usman Ogbo who could pass all the tests and stand shoulder high in the crowd, shining and highly dignified.

To this end, let me borrow from the quote of a famous author, Jarrod Kints, who state that the year you were born marks only your entire existence into the world — other years where you prove your worth are ones worth celebrating.

Today, I celebrate an accomplished Leader, Mentor, Benefactor and inspirer whom I cannot cut ties with no matter what life presents. Sabi Chief and the special and poster boy of Kogi State Government.

Thanks for building the confidence in me to be a bit radical compared to my home-boy attitude.

I pray and wish for you a more resounding and fulfilling years of service ahead, Allāhuma Amin.
