Chief Edward David Onoja: The Perfect Man For Kogi

It was Prof. Adebayo Williams that once said,

“Historical development does not obey the law of straightforward linear progression.

“Neither does democratic progress. There are detours, digressions and divisions along the way. Unfolding events often do not make much logical sense.

“It is only when things are viewed from a long retrospective glance, rather than a short prospective query, that the longer sense of it all begins to emerge.”

I chose to quote Prof Adebayo copiously so as to properly situate the context in which Chief Edward David Onoja is grossly misunderstood.

Chief Edward David Onoja, an ex – banker, former Chief of Staff to kogi state governor, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the current deputy governor of the state is intellectually endowed, administratively prepared and politically mature for the office of the governor.

He has in the last seven years traversed the length and breath of the state helping the governor to actualize his political blueprint for the state.

His determination and loyalty to help his boss GYB succeed has on few occasions brought him into collision course with some political stakeholders who felt he should for ethnic or religious reasons betray his principal. A thought he will never in his lifetime think about.

Chief Edward David Onoja will never deliberately be biased in favour of any tribe. He always plays his politics well, distance himself from ethnic extremisis, demonstrates great managerial and administrative acumen, faithful to ideational competence and never take advantage of his privileged position to ride on a roller – coaster to play divisive politics.

He is the sure man to handover the governance of kogi state and kogites will go to bed with two eyes closed because he is a man of character, capacity, courage and Competence prepared to deliver good governance.
