Chief Edward Onoja receives Okene legislative council on courtesy visit

Members of Okene legislative council led by its Deputy Leader, Hon. Mohammed Ogirima, yesterday paid a courtesy visit on the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja at his official residence in Lokoja.

The Okene local government area lawmakers said the purpose of their visit was to formerly commend the government of Governor Yahaya Bello for giving young people the opportunity to contribute to the development of the state.

They said the council leader, who was unavoidably absent due to other official duties, extended through the Deputy Leader, the regards of the legislative council.

The councilors also commended the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward Onoja for his supportive role in piloting the affairs of the state, saying that his kind of loyalty, respect and commitment to duty is one that is worthy of emulation.

Edward Onoja is his response said he was pleased to receive representatives from his principal’s local government area.

He commended the councilors for kicking off on sound footing and appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello for using his position to empower youths in the state with political positions.

Onoja further explained that God elevated Yahaya Bello to the position of Governor as a conduit to a greater assignment, urging all stakeholders and the entire people of the state to unite and be part of the divine assignment.

He said Bello’s emergence as Governor helped put to an end the issues of ethnic mistrust and insecurity that bedeviled the state, especially the central senatorial district, adding that he has the requisite experience and political will to improve on the efforts of the current government of President Buhari in tackling insecurity and unite the country.

Onoja who emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence urged the councilors to exemplify the cordial relationship between the Executive and Legislature at the state level by giving maximum support and cooperation to the Chairman of Okene local government, Hon. Mohammed Abdulrazaq to achieve the collective growth and development of the area.
