The Executive Chairman of Ibaji Local Government, Hon William Iko-Ojo, has called on the people of the area to use the occasion of Christmas to imbibe the virtues of peace, love and unity, which defined the coming of Jesus Christ.

The Chairman made the call while giving his Christmas message at Onyedega, Headquarters of the Local Government. He said Christmas was not only a season of celebration for the birth of Jesus but also a time to reflect on the love of God for mankind and reconcile with Him and society.

“As the Chief Security Officer of Ibaji Local Government, I hereby urge all the good people of Ibaji to be calm and concentrate on the celebration of Christmas peacefully. By this instruction, all political parties, candidates and followers are to desist from rallies, political walks and such other related political activities that would warrant the gathering of crowds for political purposes on the 25 of December, 2022. Security personnel will ensure that citizens comply accordingly”, he said.

Hon Iko-Ojo urged the Christian faithful to go about their Christmas celebration peacefully without any hitch. He appealed for prayers for Nigeria in general, Kogi and Ibaji in particular, as we get to the eve of elections, so that God would help install credible leaders to pilot the affairs of the country.

While expressing his sympathies for the ravaging flood in Ibaji, Hon William Iko-Ojo expressed hope that the problem of flooding would be a thing of the past by the grace of God in future.

The Ibaji Local Government Boss thanked the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, and his Deputy, Chief Edward David Ónója, for their courageous fight for the declaration of Kogi as an oil producing State and Ibaji, the oil well Local Government. He pledged the unalloyed loyalty of Ibaji Local Government to the New Direction Government of Yahaya Bello.
