CMC Alumni Association restates determination to address institution’s challenges

The Alumni Association for Crowther Memorial College, Lokoja, has restated its determination to halting some of the challenges being faced by the school by addressing some of its infrastructural and human capacity issues.

President of the association, Colonel Yemi Dare (rtd) stated this at the school premises in Lokoja on Monday while inspecting some of the projects undertaken by the Alumni and commissioning of the Alumni Office.

He was particularly excited about the renovations of the science laboratories in the school and purchase of equipments for the institution, describing the gestures as step in the right direction.

The President said in days to come, the body would embark on other signature projects including the repair of some dilapidated roofs, doors and windows in order to create conducive atmosphere for teaching and learning, and called on members of the Alumni and other spirited individuals to also assist the body.

Col Dare, who bemoaned the continued erosion of educational standards of old, said the Alumni body was not relenting in view of the important roles education plays in the lives of the next generation.

Some of the projects inspected include the Agricultural, Biology, Chemistry and Physics Labs, some of the classrooms and staff office as well as the recently completed Alumni Office.

The Association then used the opportunity to present a gift to the President, a portrait of him in his military regalia.

The President then expressed gratitude for the present and described it as a gift he cherished as it came from an association he respected.
