COETK Presents 14 Courses For Accreditation to NCCE

The Kogi state College of Education Technical, Kabba has presented fourteen programmes in different schools to the National Commission for Colleges of Education for accreditation.

The Provost of the college, Mrs Victoria Olusola Jagboro stated this in Kabba in an address during the visit of the accreditation team from the National Commission for Colleges of Education, Abuja to the institution.

Mrs Jagboro said after the first round of accreditation in 2015, the college witnessed massive growth in quality work force, infrastructure, expertise as well as increased budgetary allocation to the institution.

The leader of the accreditation team from the National Commission for Colleges of Education, and Deputy Director of Education Support Services and International Partnerships Department, Abuja, Mrs Lami Dutse says accreditation of courses in Tertiary institutions is evidence based and urged Head of Departments, Deans and other principal officers involved to be available to present all necessary documents needed for easy exercise.

Mrs Dutse explained that the commission is not on witch Hunt mission but to ensure that the right things are being carried out to enable the college produce quality manpower for national development.

The Director, Academic programmes Department of the commission, Doctor Umar Adamu says accreditation is aimed at ensuring that Colleges of Education produce quality teachers of basic education and stressed the need for the provision of quality facilities in the institution in line with the Nigeria Certificate in Education minimum standards.
