Comrade Abdullahi Adamu formally takes over as Lokoja LG Chair, Assures staff of improved welfare
Newly appointed Chairman of Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu, has formally assumed duty.
Resuming the office on Thursday in company of associates, friends and well wishers, the Chairman promised to make the welfare of staff of the council a major priority.
While soliciting for the cooperation of the civil servants in the Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi noted that the task of turning around the fortunes of the council is a major one that requires the cooperation of everyone.
The new chairman stressed that the Government of Governor Yahaya Bello has done a lot to positively touch the lives of citizens, assuring that the incoming Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ahmed Usman Ododo is prepared to build on the legacies of the outgoing one
He used the opportunity to assure the people of his commitment towards security of lives and property, even as he said care for the welfare of staff is also a major area of focus for his administration.
Comrade Abdullahi acknowledged the challenges being faced by the people, noting that he would do all that is within his power to improving the lives Lokoja people within the period of his stay in office.
He also used the opportunity to touch on the area of primary healthcare delivery, which he said is an area he wants to turn around for the better, adding that the youth, students and business women would be adequately empowered in order to make life better for them.
Aside the Governor and the incoming Governor of Kogi State, the Chairman also acknowledged the contributions of the speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf, the leader of the APC in Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency, Alhaji Suleiman Baba Ali and other stakeholders for their contributions towards his emergence and promised not to betray their trust.
The Chairman was accompanied to the office by the member representing Lokoja 1 State Constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Bin Ebaiya Shehu Tijani; the Caretaker Chairman Bassa Local Government, Hon. Theophilus Adama; the Lokoja LG APC Chairman ably represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Oloniyo Lonis; the APC Ward Chairmen, party faithful, among others.
