Coronavirus: Nigerians berates Natasha over false claims
In what appears to be a publicity stunt gone wrong, Social Democratic Party candidate in the last governorship election in Kogi State, Natasha Akpoti, have come under fire over claims that the emergency response numbers released by the Nigeria Center for Disease Control wasn’t responding to calls.
Natasha who took to her Twitter handle @NatashaAkpoti to vent her frustration, said she called the emergency response number 10 times out of curiosity and no one responded, saying it was a shame on the country.
Nigerians who noticed the mischief in her tweet didn’t waste time before taking on her, accusing her of politicizing the situation and seeking unnecessary attention.
Further conversation on the tweet revealed that she dialed the wrong number and that the fault was actually hers.
Expectedly, Natasha wasn’t ready to own up. She blamed everyone else but herself.
