Culture and Tourism commissioner in Kogi enjoins Ofu APC to throw weight behind Governor Bello’s re – election bid
The People of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State have been enjoined to throw their weight behind Governor Yahaya Bello in the November 16 governorship poll.
The Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Paul Ebije made the remark on Thursday when the eleven Ward Chairmen and executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) paid him a visit at his residence in Lokoja, the state capital.
Hon Ebije said the present administration in the state has consistently proven to the people who that it was more interested in repositioning and building a viable system the future generation would look up to since inception.
According to the commissioner, the Igala people had never had it so good as Governor Bello has continued to show love and executed projects that have direct impact on the lives of the people.
“The positive impact of this administration can be felt everywhere, especially in our Igalaland. Several road projects, rural electrification, water, employment, youth and women empowerment scheme, all these we have benefited in the last three and half years of this government without segregation.
“The only way we can reciprocate this gesture is by voting massively for Governor Bello in order to afford him the opportunity to consolidate on the good works he has started,” he added.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief of Staff, Hon. Edward Onoja and the Kogi East Zonal Chairman of the APC, Hon. Ahmed Attah for their selfless leadership qualities and justifying the confidence reposed in them by the people.
Earlier, the Local Government APC party chairman, Hon. Shagari Yahaya had intimated the commissioner that they were on the visit to appreciate him for all his support to the people of Ofu and to also notify him on some of their challenges.
Hon. Yahaya enumerated how the commissioner had on several occasions rendered assistance to the people of the area, stressing that Hon. Ebije had severally sent gift items during festive periods to different bodies in the area.
While assuring of their total support for the re – election of Governor Bello in the coming elections, they commended the commissioner for his forthrightness and prayed God to sustain him and the Governor in their endeavours.
All the eleven APC ward chairmen, youth leader and party officials from Ofu Local Government Area were in attendance.
