David Itopa Resigns as Head of Media to Natasha Akpoti »

The Spokesperson to Mrs Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the PDP Senatorial candidate in Kogi Central, Mr David Itopa popularly known as History, has resigned his appointment with immediate effect.

He premised his action on the need to take care of pressing personal issues which demand his immediate attention.

The resignation letter dated February 5, 2023, and sent to the PDP and Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan Campaign Council, was obtained by InsideStory In Okene.

The letter reads: “I want to sincerely use this opportunity to thank leaders and members of my party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), my family members and everyone who stood by me and reached out to me throughout my trying times.

“It is not news that I have always been and will always remain a committed member of the PDP, however, for personal reasons, I wish to tender my resignation from the Kogi Central PDP and Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Campaign Council as the head of Media committee.

“I sincerely wish the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, success in the 2023 general elections.”

Itopa’s resignation is coming barely 24 hours after his release from DSS custody. InsideStory gathers that the former head of the Natasha media team was recently arrested by the DSS for undisclosed reasons and was released few days after.

Close sources to Itopa revealed that he was disappointed in the nonchalant manner with which Natasha responded to his arrest, they said she didn’t show concern because he (Itopa) had refused her request for him to share fake and malicious contents about her opponent.

“She didn’t act like anything had happened despite the role that History (Itopa) has been playing in the media to promote her. She even commissioned her media guys to lie that he has been released when he was still being held, simply because he refused to share fake news against APC candidate. Thank God nothing worse happened to him, that is how she would have shoved it aside like it’s nothing. Itopa feels betrayed already that’s why”. The source said.
