Dekina Caretaker Chairman holds meeting with security heads, traditional rulers »

The Caretaker Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Honourable John Urah Ikani today held first peace and security meeting with heads of security agencies and traditional rulers in the area.

The meeting which focused on enhancing synergy, advancing impactful cooperation, and discussing the development of sustainable peace within Dekina local government area, and also to identify and support structures which will tend to strengthen and solidify peace in order to avoid a relapse into conflict.

Hon John Urah Ikani in his opening speech welcomed the the head of Army, DSS, Police, Civil defense and other security agencies and the traditional rulers.

“I stand before you today to preside over this maiden Security and peace meeting, first and foremost, I want to give thank to H.E Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for given me this opportunity to serve in this capacity as Caretaker Chairman. I also want to thank all the traditional rulers and security personnel for the synergy Exercised in maintaining peace in our local Government.

I wish to the convey the message of H.E Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to us,he said and I quote, The issue of security is topmost in his Administration and that we should not leave any stone unturned in the quest of maintaining peace and others In the same vain to implore us to be security Conscious and ensure, peaceful coexistence amongst our people, once again, I welcome you all.

Hon John Urah then opened a floor for security reports and briefing from various security heads.

The security heads and Transitional Rulers spoke Extensively on the need to corporate together to ensure security situation in their various Communities are be put under control.

The Traditional rulers in attendance is Ejeh of Dekina, H.R.H Alhaji Dr Usman Obaje, Onuh of Abocho, H.R.H Dr JONAH DRISU OKAI, the Ogohi-Onuh Anyigba, H.R.H Alhaji Abuh Shaibu Okolo.,S.A on security Dekina/BASSA, Hon Adaji Kebiru, The Head of Army, DSS, Police and other security Agencies.

The Security Agencies and Transitional pointed out some key security challenges and the measured put in place so far to curbs the challenges, they Also seek for the support of the caretaker chairman in order to Discharge their duties Effectively.

In Response to the challenges pointed by the Security Agencies and Transitional Rulers, Hon John Urah Ikani Charged all the security heads to carry out their during without fear or favour.

“I have listened and note the challenges pointed out, I will put everything into Consideration, I Want to change you all to be proactive in your duties, Like I said and always says, no stone should be left unturned as long as the security business is concerned, I will give you my 100% support to ensure we have peace in our various communities,
