Don’t limit your activities to headquarters commissioner for Agriculture tells SWS

Kogi State Ministry of Agriculture promised more support for women in Agriculture.
The Commissioner Mr Divid Ape made the promise when a non-governmental organization standup for women society paid him a visit in Lokoja

Mr Ape said the organization’s objective is a good one and advise them to make their activities known in the rural areas.

He said the present administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello is gender sensitive which he has demonstrated by including more women in policy-making in the state.

The commissioner said he is impressed with the way women now support their families through farming.

Mr Ape appealed to the organization to collaborate with other ministries to enable women and children to benefit from government programmes and policies at all levels.

Earlier in her speech, the Chairperson SWS Liberator Muslimat Itopa explained that the organization is a gender non-governmental organization with its headquarters in Lagos which is aimed at galvanizing support and drawing attention for the total development of women in the state.

She said the visit aims to partner with the state ministry of Agriculture to draw more support for women in Agriculture to enable them to boost food production.

The State and National Public Relations Officer, Liberator Billie Nwogu and the State Chapters’ Special Adviser on matters, Liberator Habibat Onakpa in their separate remarks appreciated the Commissioner for the support given to women through agriculture and appealed for more to boost the economy

Liberator Billie noted that the Association will from time to time visit relevant Offices, schools and corporate organizations to talk to people of voting age of the need to go out and exercise their franchise.
