Edward Onoja to declare International Day of Friendship by UniJos Alumni open tomorrow
The Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State Governor, Hon. Edward Onoja will declare the International Day of Friendship organized by the state chapter of the University of Jos Alumni open tomorrow Tuesday 30th July, 2019 in Emonyoku, Olamaboro Local Government Area.
The International Day of Friendship is an initiative that follows on the proposal made by UNESCO and taken up by the UN General Assembly in 1997 which defined the Culture of Peace as a set of values, attitudes, behaviours that reject violence and endeavour to prevent conflicts by addressing their root causes with a view to solving problems.
It is envisaged that the celebration of the 2019 International Day of Friendship will promote the culture of peace, unity and good brotherliness amongst the youths in general.
The celebration which will be declared open by Chief Edward Onoja, as Special Guest of Honour while Dr. Bolufemi Rotimi, CEO of RotShade Helplink Initiative and Dr. Muhammad-Badar Salihu Jibrin, The Provost, Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa will co-chair the event.
The event shall be celebrated with Lectures, Discussion, Music and Drama with expected participants of One Thousand and Five Hundred drawn from schools and youth groups within Kogi state.
Some of the key partners of the celebrations are RotShade Helplink Initiative, Jimoh-Fancy Movement, Sunny Motors, Lokoja Geeomony Kleeners, Indomie, The Inside Story, Media Office, Kogi State Government, Kogi State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Internal Revenue Service, Science, Technical Education and Teaching Service Commission.
