Eid-al- Fitr: Gov. Bello sues for patience, peace
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has enjoined the people of the state to imbibe the culture of peace and perseverance in the spirit of the celebration.
Governor Bello made the remark shortly after praying at the central eid ground, Check Point on Tuesday in Okene.
He urged the people to hold to the tenets and lessons learnt during the Ramadan period steadfastly.
While expressing gratitude to Allah for the good health and strength He granted the people and himself to enable them to successfully complete the Ramadan fast for their blessings to be sustained, Governor Bello said:
“My message to the people in the spirit of the celebration is simple; be peaceful, law abiding, security conscious and let peace continue to reign supreme in our land.”
According to the governor, his administration came into power when there was recession and had continued to work hard to put the state on a pedestal of growth and stable development.
Governor Bello assured the people of the state of his government’s commitment to judiciously utilise the state’s resources in the execution and formulation of policies that would have impact on the citizens.
On the recent rumour about rifts between the Governor and the Ohinoyi of Ebira, Bello urged the people to disregard the rumour as there was nothing of such.
In a remark, the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim said he was quoted out of context and condemned the rumour with strong terms, calling on the people to disregard the rumour as it was a misrepresentation.
The Royal Father appealed to the people to continue to love one another and shun vices capable of disrupting the peace and serenity of the area.
The two rakat prayer was led by the Acting Imam, Okene Central Mosque, Alhaji Saliu Abere.
