Eid-El-Fitri: Onoja calls for continued prayers for Kogi, Nigeria

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja shares in the joy of the Muslim Ummah across the State and country at large, as they mark this year’s Eid-el-fitr celebration.

His Congratulatory Message is contained in a Statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Promise Emmanuel and availed to newsmen in Lokoja, the State Capital.

In the document, he admonishes Muslims to reflect on the lessons of Ramadan and strife to rededicate commitments to love, unity and togetherness which he says, forms the core sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW).

Chief Onoja prays for stability, economic transformation and peaceful co-existence amongst people of different tribes, faith and class in the society, asserting that peace remains a precursor to development.

He implores Muslims to foster their prayers for the New Direction Team led by His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello; the Legislature, Judiciary, and sues them to intensify their acts of charity, love, piety, self-reflection and sacrifice, during and after the celebrations.

He also prays for security, peace and harmonious living in the nation, state and various communities.

He used the period to also pray for President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and other political, religious, corporate and traditional leaders in all position of trust and authority, seeking God’s divine wisdom and guidance to fulfill our duty-bound obligations to Nigerians.

He concludes that: “May Allah in His mercy and benevolence, answer our silent prayers, reward our hard work, and grant us our heart desires. Eid Mubarak!”
