Eid; Gov. Bello hammers on Religious tolerance, peaceful co-existence; re assures of more developmental strides
The Kogi State Governor has emphasized the need for religious tolerance to engender peaceful co-existence, unity and a prosperous Kogi state and country, noting that Muslim ummah should put into practice lessons learn during the Ramadan Period.
The Governor also re assured the people of the State of his government continued effort to bring about developmental strides in its second term.
Governor Bello made this known through his Chief of Staff, Pharm. Abdulkareeem Jamiu in Lokoja during the Eid Fitr celebration.
He noted that government has assured all citizens of Kogi state of a change in their standard of living for good as leadership was about compassion and care adding that the administration’s roadmap focused primarily on these since its inception particularly in the areas of infrastructure, security, agricultural development, youth empowerment and the creation of employment opportunities.
The Governor asserted that When this administration came on board, its major priorities were infrastructural, human development and capacity building.
He added that Projects were spread all over the State and the institutions of government were ushered into a new vista of development for a prosperous Kogi state and her citizens and there are equal representatives from the three senatorial districts that made up Kogi state and all the appointments under his administration were spread, a situation which has helped break down the barriers of ethnic jingoism.
He highlighted that before the administration Robbery and kidnapping were perpetrated with reckless abandon but such occurrence had become a thing of the past as his administration waged war against these events and has since recorded tremendous success
He pointed out that the health sector had also Made huge gains with initiatives like Health Care Plus, Free Health Care programs and many others, government had been able to touch the lives of it citizens, reduce death rates and improve the healthiness of the people
The Governor also listed reforms in civil service, huge investment in the Agriculture and massive boost in infrastructure as other areas where his administration has made gains and as such emancipated the state from its unprogressive past.
He noted that the economic programmes of his administration has survived tumultuous period with deep seated aspiration to achieve high growth in the economy and to attain this height, and the administration’s egg heads soughted an economic policy that seeks to make that growth more inclusive with an eye on the next level of Bello administration.
