Ejeh of Ankpa Endorses Youth Security Summit, Urges Collective Action
The Ejeh of Ankpa, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ahmed Abubakar Sadiq II, has endorsed the Kogi Youth Security Summit 2026, describing the initiative as timely and relevant to the security needs of the state.
The traditional ruler gave the endorsement on Friday when he received members of the Central Organising Committee of the summit at his palace in Ankpa, Kogi State.
The committee was led by the Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kogi State Chapter, Comrade Abdulrahaman Abdulmumeen Enesi.
The visit formed part of the committee’s engagements with traditional institutions and key stakeholders across the state ahead of the youth-focused security summit.
The Ejeh commended the organisers for initiating a platform that would bring young people and security stakeholders together to discuss contemporary security challenges and explore ways of strengthening community participation in crime prevention.
He noted that young people have a significant role to play in promoting peace and security, stressing the need for constructive engagement, awareness and collaboration between youths, traditional institutions, government and security agencies.
The monarch also expressed his support for initiatives aimed at equipping youths with the knowledge and orientation needed to contribute positively to the security and development of their communities.

Earlier, Enesi explained that the committee was in Ankpa to formally brief the traditional ruler on the summit and seek the support of the traditional institution for the initiative.
He said the Kogi Youth Security Summit was designed to provide a platform for young people to engage security experts, policymakers, traditional rulers and other stakeholders on emerging security threats and practical solutions.
Enesi emphasised the importance of youth participation in security efforts, noting that young people constitute a significant segment of the population and must be actively involved in building safer communities.
He thanked the Ejeh of Ankpa for receiving the committee and endorsing the summit, describing the monarch’s support as a major boost to the organisers’ efforts.
The endorsement adds to the growing support for the Kogi Youth Security Summit 2026 as the organising committee continues consultations with traditional rulers, security agencies, government officials and other stakeholders ahead of the event.
