…assures steadfast commitment to state’s unity, beneficial partnership.

On the heels of the recent victory of the All Progressives Congress at the just concluded November 11 gubernatorial election in Kogi state and the emergence of Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo as the Governor-elect, political stakeholders from Kogi West senatorial district have pledged their unflinching support for his incoming administration.

The stakeholders also assured that they remained committed to the ideals of a unified Kogi state where justice, equity and fairness are core values while adding that as a region they were also very keen on profitable partnership that will serve the good interest of their people, region and collective interest of Kogi State.

This was made known on Friday, when the Kogi West All Progressives Congress Campaign Council for the Ododo/Joel Gubernatorial election under the leadership of the Director General, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, alongside other DGs from the seven local governments of Kogi West held a gratitude dinner to commemorate the party’s overall victory at the polls and specifically in Kogi West.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Olumoko said that the victory is testament to dedication to a renewed hope as it was borne out of days-long preparedness of Governor Yahaya Bello who in his sheer wisdom saw farther into the political future, and decided to equip, engage and awaken the council with the strategic foresight and energy.

He added that the journey was a reawakening experience in the past few months of rigorous campaign meetings and consultations.

While he congratulated the party and our governor elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Hon. Olumoko saluted governor Bello for his courage and the spirit to have Kogi state liberated especially from ethnic bigotry.

Olumoko said “Our victory at the poll may not have been possible without the conglomeration of the unwavering efforts and concerted progressives moved of the front-liners, whose performances were top-notched and overwhelming”.

The DG stressed that “Kogi West is a region of multifaceted political dots and no single individuals can fashioned out victory, especially as we have three gubernatorial candidates put together from other political parties in that region, without a robust collaborations with highly functional and well structured arrangements and management team”.

While the DG acknowledged that he had dependable men of capacity at various points who were particularly dogged, result oriented and became veritable instruments for the victory of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in that governorship poll in Kogi West, he expressed his gratitude for their efforts assuring them that their labour will not go unrewarded.

He said governor Yahaya Bello is impressed and he was certain that the governor elect, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo will also be magnanimous in his outing, as soon as he hits the ground running.

In his remarks, the former Deputy Governor of the state, Arch. Yomi Awoniyi who was the chairman of the occasion said that the coming together of Kogi West to execute the victory for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, was indeed remarkable.

He added that the region had received the greatest endorsement from the state governor and leader of the party who recognised the remarkable contribution Kogi West made towards the victory of the party.

While he appreciated the governor for giving the right leadership and providing the opportunity for equal participation he alluded that much of the Victory is as a result of his abilities to plan and also stick to it.

While he admonished that Kogi West stakeholders must relentlessly Pray for the success of the Governor-elect, he added the people must work together with the Governor-elect to deliver on the Kogi agenda and the several expectations of good governance placed on him, for the people of Kogi state and Kogi West specifically.

Also at the event, the speaker, Kogi state House of Assembly, RT. Hon Aliu Umar Yusuf said that it was a new dawn of a new political history in the kogi west political history made possible by the state governor, Yahaya Bello.

The speaker asserted that Kogi West have shown that they are politically reliable and have become relevant noting that the celebration of such remarkable achievement was a reflection of the mood of the people.
