Engr Bashir Gegu symoathises with Kogi govt, family over demise of Hon Kokori Abdul
Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu has expressed sympathy with the state government, the people of the state and the family over the unfortunate death of former National Assembly member, Hon Suleiman Abdul Kokori.
The Commissioner made the assertion shortly when the news of his death was made public.
The Commissioner who was said the people of Okene and the entire state had lost an astute political figure prayed Almighty God to grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings.
Engr Gegu who expressed shock at the news of the death, described the deceased as a man of goodwill, purpose and humility, adding that the loss was a “great one” to his immediate family, his people, friends, political associates and others that were connected to him.
While also highlighting the transience of life, he used the opportunity to enjoin people of the state to use their positions to better the lives of people that are less fortunate in the society.
Before his death, Hon. Suleiman Kokori was the Federal Commissioner representing Kogi State at the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation & Fiscal Commission. Hon. Kokori had also, in the past, served the good people of Okene/Ogori-Magongo at the House of Representatives.
