Environment Commissioner praise Dangote Organisation for social, corporate impact
Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Honourable Victor Adewale Omofaiye has commended the Dangote Cement Company Obajana for the discharge of their social and corporate responsibility to the people of Kogi State.
The Commissioner made this commendation during a courtesy visit which he made alongside with his management team to the factory.
Honorable Omofaiye noted that,the environmental challenges globally is so enormous and that we all have a collective responsibilities to it.
He eulogised the organisation for their impact on the economy of the state as well as their social and corporate responsibility to the people.
The Commissioner said, his management and the agencies have been in front-line in protecting the environment against human abuse, adding that the ministry had enjoyed great supports from both the State and Federal Government in some areas like, Erosion Management through NEWMAP, Tree Planning Programs, Construction of Plastic Recycling Plant, to mention but a few.
Earlier, the company’s Head of Production, Engineer John Gowon who received the Honorable Commissioner and his team thanked him for the visit which he described as timely.
While giving vote of thanks on behalf of the Management, the Head of Finance of the Company commended the Honorable Commissioner and his entourage, stated that, his visit has further given room for synergy which would in turn be of benefit to the two parties.
He further revealed the plans which the organisation have put in place to ensure a Sustainable Health y Environment in Kogi State. Which includes recycling of waste, planting of trees and erosion/ecological management.
