The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kogi East Senatorial District, Dr. Joseph Ameh Erico, has endorsed the Governor Ododo All Campus Games 2026, describing the initiative as a laudable platform for promoting unity, peace and healthy competition among students across the state.
Erico gave his endorsement on Thursday in Abuja when he received members of the organizing committee of the Governor Ododo All Campus Games at his office.
The APC candidate commended the organizers for conceiving what he described as a meaningful youth engagement initiative capable of providing students with productive opportunities while promoting sportsmanship and peaceful interaction among young people.
According to him, programmes that meaningfully engage students are important in keeping young people focused, building their confidence and creating opportunities for the discovery and development of emerging talents.
He said the Governor Ododo All Campus Games would go beyond sporting competition, stressing that bringing students from different institutions together would strengthen unity and peaceful coexistence among the youths of Kogi State.
Erico also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for what he described as his administration’s commitment to youth empowerment and development.
He noted that the governor’s initiatives targeting young people deserved support, adding that he would continue to identify with programmes and policies associated with the governor, particularly those designed to improve the lives and prospects of Kogi youths.
“I will always support anything Governor Ododo is involved in, especially initiatives that have a direct impact on our young people,” he said.
The APC candidate assured the organizing committee of his support for the Governor Ododo All Campus Games 2026, expressing optimism that the event would provide a platform for students to showcase their sporting abilities, build relationships and contribute to the development of sports in the state.
The visit formed part of the organizing committee’s ongoing engagements with key stakeholders ahead of the Governor Ododo All Campus Games 2026, aimed at mobilising support and building broad participation for the sporting event.
The committee has continued to seek the backing of political leaders, government officials, traditional institutions and other stakeholders as preparations intensify for the games.
