Ex internationals describe Gov. Bello as a unifier
…as gov. Bello ask youth to unite, free nation from mediocres
Ex Super Eagles Internationals, represented by former captain, Austin Okocha have described Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello as a unifier, who has the intention to integrate the various ethnic sections of the country for greater good.
The Super Eagles legend made this known on Tuesday at a dinner held in honour of Former Coach, Bonfrere Joe and the 1984, 1994, 1996 former Super Eagles players organized by Kogi State Government in Lokoja
Mr. Okocha noted that the governor has made clear his position as a true nationalist who was more interested in bringing together people of diverse background, ethnic and religion.
While thanking the Governor and the people of the state for the warm hospitality meted on them during their stay in the state he opined that they all have made Kogi a home and would be willing to always be available whenever called upon
Governor Bello in his addressed which was directed majorly to the youth of Nigeria made a call on them to unite together, use the advantage of their numbers and free the nation from the clogs of mediocres who have held the country to ransom for too long.
While urging the youth to always honour the heroes for their contributions to the country he noted that there was once a time when a person’s ethnic, religion or class was never an hindrance to nationalism, stating that such moments were created by these national heroes who used their talents and served dedicatedly, patriotically and united
He affirmed that the event was a deliberate attempt to refresh the memories of the citizens on the “good old days” and also re emphasize the significant role national integration holds in our existence and prosperity as a nation.
Governor Bello stressed that it was the youth’s time for governance and leadership hence, they must as a matter of immediacy stand up and take over using their numeric strength as an advantage.
He added that the youths have resolved to fix Nigeria and were spurred to correct the mistakes of the past while urging that they should not allow their differences hinder their resolution for a greater nigeria
