Gov Bello, Others Attend Gbaramatu Voice Lecture, Awards Ceremony In Lagos

Kogi State Governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello, on Tuesday, joined other esteemed guests at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos State for the GbaramatuVoice 6th Annual Lecture and Niger Delta Awards 2021.

The Governor was represented at the event by his Deputy, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja where he Unveiled the proposed Niger Delta Resource Centre and Media Institute, expressing pleasure that youths are consciously taking their destinies into their hands.

Saying the future holds greater opportunities for them, he recalled that through fresh ideas, narratives that had formerly tagged Kogi State the Kidnap Capital of Nigeria currently ranks it as one of Nigeria’s safest. He harped on greater participation as the country is in dire need of a Unification Project, rather than that of disintegration, adding that whatever he identifies with, does not fail.

Publisher of Gbaramatu Voice, Jacob Abai earlier revealed that the Medium seeks to bridge the information gap on the activities and people of the Niger Delta with grit in media practice, promoting inclusivity, equity, and fairness across the country.

The Lecture, themed: “Dwindling State of Crude Oil Demand in the Global Market: The Way Forward” was attended by Former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, represented by Emeritus Prof. Joe Alagoa, and SSA to the President on Niger Delta Affairs, Edobor Iyamu, who stood in for Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Whilst Governor Bello, represented by Chief Onoja, was Guest of Honour, Governors Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State, Sen. Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, and Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State had their respective representatives in attendance.

Others who graced the occasion were; Deputy Speaker, KSHA, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed, and State Deputy Chief of Staff, Hon. Sunday Faleke, traditional rulers, Heads of Security Agencies, captains of industry, executives of Oil Companies, dignitaries of Niger Delta extraction, Leaders of specialized groups, among others.
